Disabled User Information

Regent's University London works with a regular provider of Accessibility Audits to develop the range of disability information available to members of the public, including Regent's Conference & Events clients.

 Disabled Parking

The Acland carpark has 2 dedicated disabled parking spaces for Blue Badge holders. It is advisable to contact Reception in advance if you  need to use a designated parking space, to check availability. Whilst using the Acland Car Park dedicated spaces the Blue Badge must be clearly visible in the windscreen of the vehicle at all times.

Free parking for Blue Badge holders if using the Regent's University car park. The car park does have limited spaces so if we are notified prior your visit, we will endeavour to reserve a space. The Blue Badge must be clearly visible in the windscreen of the vehicle at all times.

Alternatively, should you prefer to use off campus parking, the Crown Estates have spaces for Blue Badge holders, just opposite the main car park entrance. These spaces permit free parking for Blue Badge holders for up to 4 hours.

 Instructions for Acland car park

Turn left into Acland Car Park immediately after driving over the bridge on York Road. At the barrier, please contact Security via the Intercom (which is the button with a picture of a telephone handset on it). Security will answer. Advise them that you are a Blue Badge holder and you wish to use a disabled parking space. Security will then open the barrier for you and advise you where to park. Drive to the bottom of the Driveway and you will see a small square where the two spaces are clearly marked.  Go up the ramped access to the Acland entrance. Outside this door to Acland building there is a video entry system. This is controlled from the Security Office. When you press the buzzer, Security staff will automatically open the door from their office.                       

Conference clients

When you are ready to leave, please use one of the University internal telephones and dial ‘0’. This will put you through to Reception or Security. Let them know that you are ready to leave and they will make the necessary arrangements so that you can exit the car park.

Dropping off near main reception

When a disabled person is being dropped off at the Main Entrance to the university, Security staff are aware that if the disabled person requires assistance into the building a car may need to remain outside the Main Entrance for a few minutes.

Accessibility & Equipment Onsite

Regents's Conferences & Events are able to provide the following for disabled visitors:

  • Induction loops are installed in many of the conference rooms; a portable one can also be made available if required.
  • Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans (PEEPS) are offered for disabled visitors who may require additional assistance in the event of exiting a building in an emergency. (Please advise your conference Co-ordinator in advance if one is required.)
  • Evac-chairs are also available to assist those with a mobility disability. Please give advance notification if more supportive seating is required for a disabled person (e.g. a chair with arms and back support).
  • Conference information/forms can be provided in large print, on request (size 14 font).
